Parents Safeguarding information

Simon de Senlis Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and requires all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

In schools we have lots of opportunities to learn about safeguarding and particularly the online aspect.  Parents need to access support too.

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.  We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued.  We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.

Please click this link to view our Visitor Safeguarding leaflet which shows our Designated Safeguarding Leads in school.  Our DSL's are trained to identify children at risk of abuse, neglect or harm.

PREVENT

AT NPAT we want to support our children and families from being drawn into terrorism, becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism or extremism in any form or guise.  As a Trust, there is no place for extremist views of any kind whether from internal sources; pupils, staff or governors or external sources' school community, external agencies or individuals.  We recognise that extremism and exposure to extremist materials and influences can lead to poor outcomes for children.  PREVENT is the prevention of children falling prey to radicalisation or extremism, and forms part of our Safeguarding Children approach.

Our pupils and staff should see our schools as a safe space to explore  issues safely and our teachers encourage and facilitate this to happen through their Personal, Social, Health, Education and wider curriculums.

The Trust aims to minimise the risk and prevent them from being drawn in.  We ensure that all staff are PREVENT trained and are aware of the signs and indicators of radicalisation and extremist behaviours.  We work closely with the police and other agencies where any concerns are raised.  For support or advice please contact the NPAT offices on 07741 654181 or via email at .
